This large, hand-built glass cloche contains four preserved Death’s-head hawkmoths, arranged within a layered natural environment of large quartz crystal points, dried mushrooms, moss, and dried florals. Each element was selected and positioned by hand to create depth, balance, and a sense of quiet stillness.
The moths are integrated into the scene rather than displayed as isolated specimens, allowing the composition to feel cohesive and intentional. Quartz crystals anchor the piece visually, while organic textures—fungi, foliage, and moss—soften the structure and bring contrast to the glass enclosure.
This piece is entirely one of a kind. From pinning and preservation to composition and final assembly, every step was completed by hand. No molds, no replicas, and no batch production.
