This piece was built entirely by hand within a metal-and-glass terrarium, designed as a contained, landscape-style composition. A preserved monarch butterfly rests among layered greenery and dried botanicals, creating a sense of quiet movement within the structure. The plants were arranged to give the piece depth and balance while allowing the butterfly to remain the visual anchor.
At the base of the terrarium, a small animal skull is partially nestled into the moss. Its placement is subtle and intentional—meant to be discovered rather than immediately noticed—adding a grounding, natural element that speaks to cycles of life and stillness rather than shock or novelty.
The black metal frame and glass panels give the piece a slightly architectural feel, contrasting with the organic textures inside. This work is best viewed slowly, with details revealing themselves from different angles and distances.
