Veil of Stillness is a large, one-of-a-kind wall piece created within an authentic antique frame, fitted with its original convex glass. The gentle curve of the glass subtly magnifies the composition, giving the butterflies and botanicals a sense of depth and quiet movement.
This piece contains ten preserved butterflies, carefully arranged in a radial composition and surrounded by layered dried botanicals. Each element was selected and placed by hand to create balance, softness, and a natural sense of cohesion rather than strict symmetry. The palette is intentionally muted and earthy, allowing the forms and textures to speak without feeling ornate or overly decorative.
The frame is finished in deep black with a softly aged gold inner rim. Both the frame and glass show light, expected signs of age consistent with antique materials. These do not detract from the overall appearance and instead add to the character and authenticity of the piece.
