This extra-large framed piece was built entirely by hand and features twelve preserved butterfly specimens arranged in a flowing, upward composition. Each butterfly was placed individually to create movement across the frame while still allowing space for every specimen to be viewed clearly and distinctly.
The light backing was chosen to emphasize contrast and wing detail, drawing attention to subtle differences in color, scale, and pattern across the collection. Rather than strict symmetry, the composition favors balance and negative space, giving the piece a calm, natural history–inspired presence.
